UnionsWA has commented on the release by the Auditor General of the Asbestos Management in the Public Sector report. 

We live in a time of great debate and discussion about our industrial relations system.

But before outlining my vision of what the future of IR should look like in this country I want to spend a bit of time considering the current debates and issues.

UnionsWA is the state’s peak union body and we are working with the National peak Union body the ACTU. We are looking for two (2) enthusiastic and committed organisers initially to work on the federal election campaign. Successful candidates will be based at UnionsWA and employed by the ACTU to implement a national strategy.

Unions will target key marginal seats in Western Australia in the lead up to the next election as part of a national campaign to defeat the Abbott Government.

UnionsWA has aligned with a diverse group of not-for-profits and special interest groups to bring attention to proposed new laws designed to clamp down on protesters.
