WHS Act Codes of Practice Webinar - 22 May 2024 - UnionsWA

CODES OF PRACTICE

Thank you for your interest in joining in a Codes of Practice session in 2024, following on from sessions which have been running from 2022, when our new Work Health and Safety Act commenced.

There is a lot of interest in the Codes, especially the Psychosocial Code of Practice and related codes.  We are keen to help all WA workers understand the Codes and what the changes mean.  There is an opportunity to ask questions throughout the session.

*** In December 2022, Regulations around Psychosocial Hazards were released - we will cover what this means for your workplace ***

The session is presented by Owen Whittle, Secretary UnionsWA who led the long term and successful campaign for better WA safety laws, & Julia Armitt, Work Health and Safety Officer UnionsWA.

RVSP below!

This session is open to all WA workers.  If you are an elected Health and Safety Representative (HSR) and/or Union Delegate in the workplace, you are especially encouraged to attend.

This free information session will cover 3 new/updated Codes of Practice, under the Work Health and Safety Act, specifically these are:

  1. Psychosocial Hazards in the workplace (these hazards broadly cover the way work is designed, any inherent hazards and risks due to the nature of work, as well as social factors at work, and much more)
  2. Workplace Violence & Aggression (targeted towards external sources of violence - students, patients, customers, etc);
  3. Workplace Behaviour  (targeted towards internal inappropriate workplace behaviour problems).

We hope you can join us! Please RSVP below.

*The session will be held via Microsoft Teams - a link to this session will be provided upon your RSVP *  Please note all participants must individually register.

  Please contact Julia Armitt for any enquiries via email or phone
