The Young Unionists’ Movement of Western Australia (YUMWA) is an activist group for young people (35 years and younger) who are union members.

The group is committed to strengthening the wider union and labour movement through empowering the younger members with an active voice and role through education, social media, community, political activities and recruitment.

YUMWA was born from an acknowledgement that youth issues are key, often neglected, part of the union movement. As the future of the union movement, YUMWA seeks to invite young unionists to come together and be empowered and for up-skilled campaigners to take on the fight and guide the future direction of workers’ rights.
