Mick Jez

Manager Unity Training Services and Principal Trainer

Mick commenced his career as a trainer in 2004 while employed by the Australian Customs Service and in 2009, commenced employment with the CFMEU WA training arm, Construction Skills Training Centre (CSTC) as the R&D Officer/Trainer, a position he held for over 10 years. 

Mick started casual work with Unity Training Services (UTS) in August 2020, presenting OSH/WHS Safety Rep’s courses and was offered the role of Training Manager/UTS Coordinator in November 2020.  Mick holds a Diploma in WHS, Cert IV in Training & Assessment and numerous construction industry qualifications (tickets).

OH & S Trainer

Elaine has been with Unity Training since 2005 as a course developer, facilitator and trainer. She has delivered accredited introductory and refresher Health and Safety Rep (HRS) courses for workers in State,  Commonwealth, Oil and Gas jurisdictions and has developed industry specific training for HSR’s and Work Health and Safety (WHS) training for managers and supervisors. As a training and development specialist Elaine delivers quality training which is activity based and learner centred.

Elaine holds a Bachelor of Arts Training and Development, Post Graduate Certificate in WHS, Cert 4 Training and Assessment and Cert 4 WHS.

Julia Armitt

Work Health and Safety Officer, UnionsWA

Julia began her career in the union movement in 2006 and brings the experience of working as an Organiser and Industrial staff member from a wide range unions and workplaces across WA and NSW.

Julia has worked for the Communication Electrical and Plumbing Union, the Finance Sector Union,  Flight Attendants' Association of Australia, Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance, CPSU-Civil Services Association and Independent Education Union as well as being a Sessional Trainer for Unity Training Services.  She holds qualifications in Training & Assessment, Human Resources and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.  Julia is also the Safety Representative for the UnionsWA and Unity Training Office.
