All West Australians deserve access to safe environments to work, protected
from over exposure to UV (ultraviolet) radiation from the sun. Skin cancer is
almost entirely preventable, with most skin cancers caused by overexposure to
UV radiation.
People who work outdoors in Australia receive up to 10 times more sun
exposure than indoor workers, placing them at a higher risk of skin damage and
skin cancer, it is recommended workers who spend most of the day in the sun
use protection whenever they are outside, regardless of UV levels.
Cancer Council WA and Unions WA invite you to join us for a 45 minute (up to 1 hr)
webinar to discuss:
• Skin cancer in Australia
• The difference between heat and UV
• How to prevent skin cancer
• Sun Protection in the Workplace
This session is open to all WA workers - especially Health and Safety Reps, Union Delegates and Union Staff, and those interested in workplace health and safety.
