Workers' Memorial Day will be held at 10am on Thursday 28 April at Solidarity Park, corner of Parliament Place & Harvest Terrace, West Perth.
Representatives from unions will speak about the loss of loved ones at work and occupational health and safety issues. Father Chris Bedding has agreed to conduct the service of remembrance for those who have died or been injured at work.
Western Australia has experienced a higher than usual level of workplace fatalities in the past 18 months and this event will provide an opportunity to remember those who have passed but to also to campaign for stronger occupational safety and health laws.
Following the service unionists will be invited to lay wreaths at the memorial wall.
