UnionsWA has welcomed the announcement today of the appointment by the WA Government of Ms Toni Walkington as a member of the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission.

UnionsWA Secretary, Meredith Hammat said:

“I warmly congratulate Toni Walkington on her appointment to the WA Industrial Relations Commission. 

“She has had a long and successful career representing public sector workers in WA as Secretary of the CPSU/CSA. 

“She will bring to the WA Industrial Relations Commission a balanced and fair-minded approach, a detailed knowledge of the state industrial system and a strong understanding of the issues facing everyday working people.

“Ms Walkington’s contribution to the Community and Public Sector Union/Civil Service Association and the broader union movement has been a valued one of reform and leadership and I wish her well in her new position.”
