To RSVP please complete your details below.
This event is free and a thank you to our many supporters over the past year or so who have engaged with our events including fundraising for the Union Aid Abroad Indonesia LION project. You may have seen news in the past few days of the earthquake in West Java. First early reports are of 162 deaths, 326 injured, 2,345 homes and other buildings damaged and 13,784 people evacuated. As you will realise, with much building product in Indonesia product made of asbestos and this widespread damage will have released large amounts of asbestos particles that will, in turn, contribute to long term harm to health and premature fatalities among the local population, including rescue and aid workers. Below is a video of just some of that damage. Tragic as these circumstances are, it would be remiss of us to not extend further support for the important work of Indonesia LION to support victims of asbestos related disease and work toward a total ban of asbestos in Indonesia and globally. If you can afford to give support towards this important cause, please do so here.
