In 1997 the Liberal Government introduced legislation that would significantly restrict the ability to protect members and the community from unfair and exploitative employment practices.
30, 000 unionists and community members stood together outside the doors of Parliament House and fought back against this legislation. When we were not listened to, we stood our ground and pegged it, creating the Workers Embassy and what we know today as Solidarity Park.
On the 28th of April join us in remembering this six month occupation which brought community, fun and solidarity to our movement. Please bring a print out of your purchased ticket on the night.
