Barnett Government opts to protect employers, not safety for WA workers

Every state in Australia except Western Australia will adopt national harmonised health and safety laws.

 

"The only provisions which Troy Buswell has said they will not support in the harmonsised health and safety laws are those to benefit employers," UnionsWA Simone McGurk said.

Buswell Must Come Clean on Planned Industrial Relations Changes

UnionsWA today demanded that Treasurer Troy Buswell release the recommendations of his $635,000 review into Western Australia's industrial relations laws, so that 300,000 workers could have certainty before Christmas.

Mr Barnett: You are supposed to improve services, not sell them off

UnionsWA has vowed to fight plans to privatise key Government services following the WA Government's announcement to outsource essential services at the new Fiona Stanley Hospital.

"Prior to the last state election Colin Barnett and the Liberal Party had an opportunity to tell the WA public what their plans were for managing government services and they said nothing," UnionsWA Secretary Simone McGurk said today.

"They deceived the public and said that they would improve services, not sell them off.
