UnionsWA has today commented on the release by the Barnett Government of its’ Mid-Year Financial Projections Statement.

Meredith Hammat, Secretary UnionsWA said:

“The Barnett Government has broken the economy, broken state finances and broken services to the public.

“They have no plan.

“We all know the WA economy is susceptible to booms and busts.

“To be in this poor financial situation at the end of one of our longest and richest booms is unforgivable.

“Too much public money has been squandered on CBD infrastructure projects.

“Yet the population in WA continues to grow while a freeze on public sector employment after recent cuts will harm our economy and mean poorer health, school and other vital services.
